Dr. Symington graduated from the University of Guelph with an Honours Bachelor of Biomedical Science and then attended the University of Waterloo, where she obtained her Doctor of Optometry degree with Dean’s honours. Dr. Symington completed clinical externships in Clarenville, Newfoundland and Calgary, Alberta, where she treated and managed a variety of disease and advanced dry eye cases in both rural and urban communities.
Dr. Symington had the priviledge of travelling to Malawi, Africa with the VOSh (Volunteering Optometric Services to Humanity) organization to provide vision care to school aged children. This incredibly rewarding and educational experience motivates her to continue her volunteer efforts to provide needed healthcare to those with limited access. Through these enriched experiences, Dr. Symington developed a specific interest in providing care for patients with dry eyes as well as paediatric populations.
Orginally from Thunder Bay, ON, Dr. Symington enjoys spending time outdoors, particularly hiking, paddle boarding and camping. She loves spending time with her family and friends and is a passionate animal lover. She has an enthusiasm for travel and has travelled across Canada and throughout numerous European and African countries. Dr. Symington is loving the Niagara region and excited to provide quality eye care to the Lincoln community.
